Turmeric on NCDEX settled down by -2.25% at 7208 as fresh rains in producing centers brightened the crop prospects, though traders are awaiting the final reports. Turmeric sowing in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is almost flat, showed state governments' agriculture department data. Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra received good rains during last one week and this would be beneficial for standing turmeric crops. Expectation of commencement of sale of turmeric AP Markfed too would have a bearish impact on prices.
