Equity Trading Tips: Large Speculators Trim Longs For Fourth Straight Week

Large speculators reduced their net positions marginally in the Silver futures markets last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on Friday. The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net position of 59,108 contracts in the data reported through Tuesday October 10th. This was a weekly drop of -71 contracts from the previous week. Speculative positions have now fallen for four straight weeks.

The commercial traders position, categorized by the CFTC as hedgers or traders engaged in buying and selling for business purposes, totaled a net position of -70,608 contracts on the week. This was a weekly fall of -1,891 contracts.
