Cardamom on MCX settled up by 2.25% at 1106.1 as new season arrivals have been limited affected by the dry weather in the cardamom growing regions of Kerala. Good demand for the domestic market as well as for exports are driving the prices higher. Arrivals have started picking up in auctions centers and quality is also improving. At the auction nearly 29 tonnes of cardamom arrived, and almost the entire quantity was traded. The auction average stood at Rs. 1,149.68/kg. The maximum price was Rs. 1,540/kg. At the forenoon auction, the average was Rs. 1,142.83/kg. The maximum price was Rs. 1,547/kg, according to Spices Board sources.
