Jeera on NCDEX settled up by 0.97% at 19850 due to weak stocks amid good demand from exporters and local traders. Around 70% jeera crop of 2016-17 has arrived in the market and only limited stock is left with farmers and traders. During 2016-17, jeera output in Gujarat-the largest producing state-was estimated lower at 212,000 ton due to fall in acreage, Gujarat Agriculture ministry data showed. India exported 119,200 ton jeera during 2016-17 up 22% from year ago thanks to higher demand from China and Bangladesh.
