Budget Revisits 60 days' Interest Waiver To Farmers Announced On 31st December ,2016

In latest Union Budget 2017-18 , Indian Finance Minister has revisited that farmers will also benefit from 60 days' interest waiver announced on 31 Dec 2016. The idea is to provide interest waiver for farmers who have taken loans from district co-operative banks and primary societies.

The government has decided to waive 60-day interest for loans taken by farmers who have taken loans from district co-operative banks and co-operative socities for the Rabi sowing season and amount will be directly transferred to farmer's account. However, the concessions by government provided to people, whom have also been in the firing line of the demonetisation exercise.
