Stock Market Tips, Uptrend continues in pepper

Spot pepper prices continued to show an upward trend in the tight availability of indigenous high bulk density material.

New pepper started trickling in from Kerala's Wayanad district where harvesting has just begun. The sellers were asking for ₹425 a kg but the buyers were at ₹420 a kg.

There were no arrivals from the high ranges. Seven tonnes from the plains mixed with Sri Lankan material were traded on Thursday at ₹410, trade sources told Business Line.

Spot prices moved up further by ₹200 a quintal to close at ₹41,600 (ungarbled) and ₹43,600 (garbled) a quintal.

Indian export prices were at $7,050 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,300 a tonne c&f for the US.
