DHFL rallies 4% on reports of selling Rs 18,000 cr loans to Oaktree Capital

The cash-strapped company has about Rs 8,400 crore of loan repayments and securitization payouts coming up in the two months.

Shares of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL) rallied more than 4 percent intraday on May 17 after the company reportedly entered talks with US-based Oaktree Capital to offload wholesale real estate loans worth Rs 17,000-18,000 crore.


According to a report in The Economic Times, DHFL has signed a nonbinding pact to this effect.

At 0937 hrs, DHFL was quoting Rs 111.55, up 4.2 percent on the BSE.
