Uptick in demand buoys cardamom futures

Cardamom futures were trading higher during morning trade in the domestic market on Friday as investors and speculators build up fresh bets in the agri-commodity amid increase in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. 

 

At the MCX, cardamom futures for March 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1481.60 per kg, up by 0.30 %, after opening at Rs 1482, against a previous close of Rs 1477.20. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1487.Cardamom on MCX settled down by -0.43% at 1477.2 tracking weakness in spot demand after prices seen supported earlier amid shrinkage in arrivals at auctions. Exporters were active and were covering and that in turn has kept the buoyancy in the market.

 

Technically market is under fresh selling as market has witnessed gain in open interest by 0.29% to settled at 703 while prices down -6.4 rupees, now Cardamom is getting support at 1470.2 and below same could see a test of 1463.1 level, And resistance is now likely to be seen at 1487.2, a move above could see prices testing 1497.1.
