Cardamom futures drop on sluggish demand

Cardamom futures were trading lower during the evening trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors and speculators reduced exposures in the agri-commodity amid tepid physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. Further, sufficient supplies on adequate physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, too influenced the downtrend in domestic cardamom prices.

At the MCX, cardamom futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 1,162 per kg, down by 1.73 per cent, after opening at Rs 1,183, against a previous close of Rs 1,182.4. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 1,158.

Cardamom on MCX settled down by -1.71% at 1182.4 amid slide in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. Adverse weather has hit the cardamom output badly and impact is visible on arrivals. There were almost no rains for nearly 6 months in Kerala and other producing states, which hit the plantations. As a result arrivals have been delayed and have not picked up yet. India exported 1,150 ton cardamom during Apr-Jun up 25% on year. Total arrivals during the season from Aug 1 to Sep 3 were at 2,110 ton and sales were at 1,937 ton.For more Information Visit Us:- ripplesadvisory.com/free-trial.php and miss call -9827808090.
