Spot turmeric prices decreased at Erode markets on Wednesday as arrivals increased. Farmers brought nearly 6,000 bags for sale and traders purchased 65 percent of them. Turmeric prices on the futures remained unchanged. The price of finger variety was down ₹500 a quintal. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric was sold at ₹6,790-8,119 a quintal; root variety at ₹6,509-7,690. Of the 615 bags put up for sale, 518 were sold.
