Cardamom on Mcx settled down by -1.28% at 856.2 on profit booking after gaining on account of good buying support from both exporters and upcountry buyers. 

Arrivals continued to stay squeezed following end of the harvesting season and last week it stood at 452 tonnes, trade sources said. The firmer trend was witnessed at today’s Cardamom Planters Association (CPA) auction in Bodinayakannur also. 

There the average price moved up to Rs. 693 a kg from Rs. 658.76 last Monday. A total of 21.4 tonnes arrived and of this 19.3 tonnes were traded. Upcountry buyers were seen active last week and that in turn has pushed up the prices.

Cardamom trading range for the day is 825.8-897.

Total arrivals during the season up to June 11 were at around 30,920 tonnes and sales were at 29,770 tonnes.

Cardamom prices in spot market gained by 6.90 rupees and settled at 821.30 rupees.
