NCDEX Turmeric Market Update

Turmeric on NCDEX settled up by 0.3% at 8016 on account of increasing demand from traders and stockists at the spot market. During the Apr-Dec 2015, India exported 68,500 ton turmeric as against 64,785 ton a year ago because of increased demand from Gulf countries. Due to poor demand for turmeric, prices were down Rs. 9,000 a quintal.

 

Till last week, prices, though decreased, were above Rs. 9,000 a quintal. In other markets too, prices were much lower than last month. In Nizamabad, a major spot market in AP, the price ended at 8523.65 rupees gained 23.65 rupees.

 

Technically market is under fresh buying as market has witnessed gain in open interest by 0.25% to settled at 25945, now Turmeric is getting support at 7978 and below same could see a test of 7942 level, And resistance is now likely to be seen at 8048, a move above could see prices testing 8082.
