Indian Stock Market Tips- Share market update: Bank shares trade lower; PNB down over 3%
Bank shares were trading lower with the Nifty Bank index down 1.12 percent at 26,223.75 on Thursday.
Shares of Punjab National Bank (down 3.48 percent), IDFC Bank (down 2.38 percent), Bank of BarodaNSE -1.81 % (down 1.86 percent) and Kotak Mahindra BankNSE -2.49 % (down 1.75 percent) were the worst performers in the index.
IndusInd Bank (down 1.70 percent), YES Bank (down 1.64 percent) and State Bank of India (down 1.41 percent) too were trading lower.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 127.70 points at 10,655.2 while BSE Sensex was down 375.55 points at 35,508.86 around 11:47 am.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 3 were trading in the green, while 47 were in the red.
Shares of Sun Pharma, YES Bank, Idea Cellular, L&T Fin Holding, Vedanta, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC, Hindalco Industries, SAIL, and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
