Stock market advisory tips, Tea prices dip at the Kochi sale on slack buying by blenders

Subdued buying by major blenders kept prices of several tea varieties low at Kochi auctions.


The market for good and better liquoring mediums was steady to firm and sometimes dearer, while others were irregular and lower and witnessed some withdrawal. Browner teas showed a decline in prices in sale No 48.

The quantity on offer in CTC dust was 9,57,500 kg. Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation and regional blenders were active in good liquoring varieties.

In orthodox grades, the market barely tended to ease. The quantity on offer was 13,000 kg. Exporters continued to be the mainstay.

In Cochin CTC dust quotation, good varieties fetched ₹108-159, mediums realized ₹80-130 and plain grades stood at ₹65-85. In the leaf category, the market for Nilgiri broken, whole leaf and Fannings in orthodox grades showed a decline of ₹5-10.
