Rising high on merger news, shares of company gained as much as 5.85 per cent to touch an intra-day high of Rs 242.65 apiece on Bombay Stock Exchange. In a similar fashion, stocks of company rose 4.41 per cent to Rs 239.35 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 28,435.90, up 195.38 points, or 0.69 %.
