Cotton Futures Edge Lower On Easing Demand

Cotton futures edged lower on MCX as cotton output in crop year 2016-17 may rise to 34.5 million bales from 33.2 million bales in the previous year. Further, easing demand from domestic mills also fuelled the downtrend. The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 18670.00, down by 0.21% or Rs 40.00 from its previous closing of Rs 18710.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2274 lots.

The contract for November delivery was trading at Rs 18200.00, down by 0.22% or Rs 40.00 from its previous closing of Rs 18240.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 1248 lots on MCX.
