Gold futures ended higher on Wednesday maintaining their short-term boost from political uncertainty in the US, as the Federal Reserve Janet Yellen’s reiterated a call for gradual interest-rate hikes in Capitol Hill testimony. Gold futures for August delivery gained $4.40 or 0.4 percent, to settle at $1,219.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold was up 0.24 percent at $1,220.26 an ounce.
