Strong demand lifts nickel futures by 0.91%

Nickel futures rose during evening trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors and speculators indulged in widening up their bets in the industrial metal on increase in demand from alloy-makers. 

           Further, prices of nickel got a boost from covering up of pending short positions by speculators ahead of the expiry of December series Futures & Options contracts on Thursday.

At the MCX, nickel futures for December 2016 contract is trading at Rs 698.50 per kg, up by 0.91 %, after opening at Rs 696, against a previous close of Rs 692.20. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 700.
