Copper futures gain on upsurge in demand

Copper futures were trading higher during afternoon trade in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators widened their positions in the industrial metal amid rise in demand from consuming industries. 

Traders said a better trend at the domestic spot markets led by pick up in demand helped buoyed copper futures. 

 

At the MCX, copper futures for February 2017 contract is trading at Rs 379.20 per kg, up by 0.25 %, after opening at Rs 378.10, against a previous close of Rs 378.25. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 380.50.
