MCX Copper Market News

Copper on MCX settled down -0.57% at 312.50 while traded in the range as trading volumes were light with U.S. markets closed Monday for Memorial Day while the U.K. is also shuttered for a public holiday. 

 

Also Copper traders will be looking out for a pair of reports on China's manufacturing sector this week, amid ongoing concerns over the health of the world's second biggest economy. Sentiments still remain weak as Copper prices are on track for a more than 7 percent monthly loss in May, as a resurgent dollar pressured the metal it to its weakest showing in half a year. LME Copper prices hit the loftiest in a fortnight at $4,727 a tonne on Friday, the last day of trade before markets shut for a long bank holiday weekend.

 

At the MCX, Copper futures for June 2016 contract were trading at Rs.314.9 per 1 kg, up by 0.77 %, after opening at Rs. 312.6, against the previous closing price of Rs. 312.5. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 315.05 till the trading. (At 11:21 AM).
